You may be well versed in what you don't like about your skin, but have you ever stopped to notice what you do love about your skin?
It's so important for your self-confidence, especially when you're dealing with skin concerns, to think about the positives.
We've spoken to six real women of different ages who have skin concerns, including acne, wrinkles and scarring.
We've asked them to tell us what they love about their skin and why.
"What I love about my skin is my rosy cheeks, as I think they make me look healthy and feel younger and happier.
I used to really struggle with accepting my wrinkles, even resorting to Botox at one point, but I realised it really wasn't for me and was far too extreme.
As I grow older, I've learned to accept my wrinkles as part of me. I want to look lived in, but still full of life.
For me, that’s all about attitude of mind, lifestyle and being able to live the life I want to. As you get older that is easier as I no longer have children I have to tidy up after, I don’t work so hard, and I find the simpler things in life more joyous. Downside is, there’s a lot less of it left.
All the more reason to make the best of what we have now!"
"I really love my complexion. It's taken me time to get here because I've struggled with acne and scarring in the past, but I can honestly say I do.
I sometimes get blemishes, but when my skin is clear, it has a beautiful glow, especially when I'm feeling happy and relaxed.
I really think that my skin looks best when I'm just taking care of myself and not working too hard."
"I love it when my freckles come out in the sun. It makes me feel so pretty. Even if I get blemishes, I feel so much better about them when my skin is sun-kissed!
I used to hate my freckles and whenever I got a spot I would get so upset.
But I've learned that perfection isn't a reality and I now embrace all those things I used to see as flaws.
I'm also learning to appreciate how youthful my skin is at 29, rather than getting stressed about the odd fine line."
"I found it quite difficult at first to come up with things I like about my skin, as I still struggle with acne.
What I do love is the skin around my eyes and forehead, which I feel is very smooth. I often get asked for ID when I'm buying alcohol, which makes me feel really good about myself!
I also like the soft skin on my cheekbones, which looks really pretty with a bit of blusher and highlighter.
Now I'm in my 30's, I find I care a lot less what other people think of me.
I always used to worry about other people seeing my spots and judging me. But now, I just think, if I'm happy when I look in the mirror, that's all that matters."
"I love the different olive tones my skin has and how naturally soft it is.
I used to put lots of foundation and blusher on to hide any scarring or blemishes, but now I feel so much more confident, especially after using 47 skin's serum, that I hardly put any on at all.
I really enjoy going out and about with very minimal make-up as it feels liberating and like my skin can breathe."
"I actually think I like my skin more now than I did in my twenties. I used to have quite oily skin, which I hated, but now I love how moisturised and smooth my skin is naturally.
I also like the way my skin tans so easily and often has a natural glow in Summer.
I turned 50 last year, and was worried about how my skin would look as it aged, and although I still have my hang-ups, to be honest I'm loving it!"
