We love Kate Winslet's attitude to beauty
The way you think and talk about beauty has a big impact on how you feel about yourself.
Kate Winslet’s attitude to this reflects the type of message we think is important.
Her mindset on ageing and beauty is so refreshing, especially in an industry where there is so much pressure to look a certain way.
She once called out GQ U.K. for digitally editing her images to make her look thinner and famously banned Lancôme from retouching any of her photos.
This is exactly the kind of thing that we promote at 47 Skin and think it's amazing that she is helping to lead the way.
We looked at a recent interview she gave The Cut to find out more.

When you think about beauty, do you imagine perfect skin, make-up and hair, or do you think of it as something else?
Beauty should be defined by who you are and not what society labels as beautiful.
With more people than ever suffering with mental health issues related to their body image, it’s such an important message to get across.
The more we learn about new ways to see beauty, the more we can help change this.
Who you are and what you do makes you a beautiful person. It doesn't start or end with your reflection in the mirror.

Time passing is something we created, so age doesn't really mean anything at all.
It's true that your skin and body naturally changes as you grow older, but it doesn't need to be a bad thing.

Society teaches us that youth is the key to being attractive, but it doesn’t have to be.
Everyone on earth ages so perhaps it’s time to start questioning this.
What can you do?
It’s difficult to see past wanting to look ‘just right’ and worrying about the way you look (we find it hard too).
Changing your attitude to beauty doesn’t happen overnight, but it can start with the small things.
Next time you find yourself inspecting a wrinkle in the mirror and worrying about how it looks. Ask yourself – why don’t I like this? It’s a natural part of living my life.
When you find yourself taking a photo for Instagram and trying to get the angle, lighting and filter just right. Stop and think –maybe I can post a photo of me, just as I am, and that will be uniquely beautiful too.
